Yak & YETI
1 KM + 16 km + 1KM / 800m+
"FAMILY BUSINESS", 1 ADULT ET 1 CHILD
What happens when a Yak meets a Yeti? They come together to Les Diablerets to participate in a UNIQUE relay race. A true family sports adventure. The principle is simple: A child (under 12 years old) runs a loop of about 1 km and then passes the relay to the adult who completes the Yak course over 17 km. The last kilometer will bring the two relay runners together for a joint finish.
Thanks to our friends at the Montreux Trail Festival for allowing us to use this wonderful concept that both young and old love!

Starting from the center of the village, the first relay runner (a child under 12 years old) runs a loop of about 1 km and passes the baton (the survival blanket) to the second relay runner (the adult) who then sets off on the Yak course of 17 km.
After following the Dar, a river descending from the Glacier des Diablerets known for its magnificent waterfall, the Yak route will lead to the refreshment point at Lac Retaud beyond the Col du Pillon.
The route then joins the former arrival station of the mythical Isenau gondola and then the hamlet of Métreille via a beautiful path along the southern balcony of the Vallée des Ormonts. From there, you just need to 'let loose' in a direct descent to the village gates where the child relay runner will join the team for the last kilometer, a joint finish, and a shared ranking.

It is the responsibility of each team to meet at the relay point located about 1 km before the finish, according to the schedule provided by the LiveTrail application.
CHALLENGE 2D
For only CHF 15.- extra, you can also take part in the 2-day challenge offered as part of our 10th anniversary. The idea is as follows: you register for a race in Les Diablerets on Saturday (TAKIN, RHINO, or YAK) and then choose the 'CHALLENGE 2D,' which will allow you to participate the next day in Gstaad, either on the 14km course or the more demanding 27km course. The final choice can be made when picking up the bibs for the Sunday race. A special ranking based on the total mileage covered and a coefficient will be established at the end of the 2 days.
