GRAND RAID SHERPA
100km / 6'300m m+
solo / relay (3 sections with 2 or 3 runners)
To celebrate the 10th edition of the Humani'Trail in style, we wanted to pay tribute to those without whom the conquest of the Himalayas would probably never have been possible: the Sherpas. This people, originally from Tibet and settled in Nepal, are primarily known for their extraordinary physical abilities and their role as porters for mountaineers from around the world. They are increasingly emancipating themselves and now achieve feats in their own name.

This exceptional route, which will only be organized as part of this 10th edition, will pass through the cantons of Bern, Vaud, and Valais and will start from the famous village of Gstaad.
As soon as you leave the village, the serious part begins with the climb towards one of the region's iconic mountains, the Witteberghore (2,234 m), followed by a descent towards the first refreshment station and Arnesee. The Col de Voré (1,919 m) then allows you to join the Humani'Trail routes at Lac Retaud. We then continue on a common route to Les Diablerets (avoiding the dreadful Palette, that's a gift!). After a major refreshment stop at Les Diablerets, we continue on a common path to Pillonpass, then the technical climb towards Diablerets SAC-Hut (2,485 m) before reaching the highest point of the race, Glacier Zanfleuron (2,879 m). After the famous Quille du Diable, participants reach Prarochet Hut and finally Sanetschpass (2,200 m). A relatively technical descent then allows you to reach the heights of the village of Gsteig.
From this moment on, we will no longer leave the Bernese Oberland, first heading towards the magnificent Lauenensee, then the village of Lauenen for a well-deserved refreshment before the Trütlisbergpass (2,033 m) and the famous Via Alpina, which crosses Switzerland from east to west. After the pass, we begin the ascent of the Turbach Valley to the Zwitzeregg region for a final refreshment and before a final climb to the Parwenge alp (1,836 m). The end of the course offers magnificent panoramas of the surrounding mountains before the final descent to Gstaad.
A true alpine route, a tribute to the Sherpa people, the true heroes of the Himalayas.
